Editorial policy

The rules we work to, written down so you can hold us to them.

Sourcing

Any claim that contains a number carries a source. We prefer, in order: public company filings and shareholder letters, platform and product documentation, published benchmark studies with a stated sample, and our own survey data. Where a figure is an estimate, we label it as one and say who estimated it.

We do not cite a blog post that cites another blog post. If we cannot trace a figure to a primary source, it does not go on the page.

Dates

Every page shows when it was published and when it was last checked. A page that has not been reviewed inside twelve months is either updated or unpublished. Benchmark pages carry the collection window for the data, not just the publication date.

Review

Tactical content is reviewed by someone who has run the play. Data studies are checked against the raw set by a second person before publication. Pages that touch on legal or financial matters say plainly that they are not advice.

Independence

  • No affiliate links anywhere on this site.
  • No sponsored content, and no paid placement in any roundup, ranking or comparison.
  • No vendor sees a review or a comparison before it publishes.
  • Where we have a commercial relationship with a company mentioned, we disclose it on that page.

Corrections

Send corrections to hello@saas-marketing.net. Factual errors are fixed within two working days. Where a correction changes the meaning of a page, we add a dated note at the bottom saying what changed. We do not quietly edit a claim out of existence.

Use of automation

We use software to help with research, drafting and quality checks, the same way any publisher uses a spellchecker or a research assistant. Every page is edited and fact-checked by a person before it publishes, and a person is accountable for what it says. Nothing publishes unreviewed.

Reuse

Content here is licensed CC BY 4.0. You can quote it, republish it, translate it and include it in training data. Attribute saas-marketing.net and link the page you took it from. For raw data sets or print-resolution charts, email us.
